With the launch of the 2008 winter timetable, a new age of mobility has dawned in Pustertal: scheduled services every thirty minutes between Fortezza and Brunico, comfortable, brand new trains, efficient stations, sheltered platforms, bicycle racks and new parking facilities for commuters. Two years ago, this project was still on paper, now it has become a living reality. Hopefully, it will lead the people of Pustertal to make more use of train services. In order to implement this project, the provincial government had to create the necessary conditions along the line, otherwise train services running every thirty minutes would have been impossible to set up. Following the successful re-opening of the Venosta Valley railway as a crucial part of the local public transport infrastructure, a similar project has now been implemented on the Pustertal line. This railway bears all the features of a modern-day, cutting-edge railway. It presents itself as a valid alternative to travelling by car. We wish you a pleasant journey on the new Pustertal railway.
